Laura Hoffman

PsyD Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Laura Hoffman, Psy.D., is licensed as a clinical psychologist by the Oregon Board of Psychology. She completed her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at George Fox University, and specializes in working with pediatric neurodiverse populations. Her over 8 years of clinical training and experience have focused on the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents across outpatient, school, primary care, and hospital settings. She completed a 2-year residency at the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Pediatric and Developmental Disabilities Clinic, where she performed behavioral/CBT treatment for children with autism and developmental delays, interdisciplinary autism evaluations, and behavioral and executive functioning assessments. Dr. Hoffman provides both psychological evaluations and behavioral/CBT treatment for children, with an emphasis on parent training and education. Clinical interests include early childhood development, developmental delays, ADHD, autism, neurodivergence, parent training, anxiety, disruptive behaviors, and toileting. Her theoretical orientation is a combination of developmental, behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, and family systems approaches. She is passionate about collaborating with children and parents to make individualized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based interventions with adjustments to fit each child’s unique needs and family context. She strongly believes in meeting families where they are at, recognizing existing family strengths, and empowering caregivers with additional strategies for supporting their child’s progress and development. She strives to provide trauma-informed and equitable care across populations. As a clinician, Dr. Hoffman is admittedly most comfortable conducting therapy on the floor, and thinks that a course in playdoh art should be required for all child psychologists. Outside of work, Dr. Hoffman loves kayaking, hiking, cooking, and competitively playing soccer and board games with her husband and two children. She finds joy in everything autumn, and makes excessive use of squash, cinnamon, and fall leaves each year when October arrives. She is also a “closet foodie” who loves trying new foods and flavors, but is unlikely to ever win “Chopped.”
