Founded in 2014, Northwest ADHD Treatment Center has rapidly grown. Our practice owners, Danell Bjornson, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and Daniel Lennen, a clinical psychologist, created our practice with the intent to provide the highest quality ADHD evaluations and treatment options, and to be a wonderful place for staff and providers to work. Our multidisciplinary team of experts currently serve patients throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington via in-person and telehealth based appointments.
Known for setting the benchmark in treatment quality, our goal is to offer a comprehensive solution for ADHD patients and our community, through comprehensive evaluation, treatment, community support, and continuous education for both providers and community partners.

Alyssa Nolde

Alyssa Nolde

PsyD, Licensed Psychologist, Training Director

Dr. Nolde received her master’s degree (MS) and doctorate (PsyD) in clinical psychology from Pacific University. Dr. Nolde has an integrated approach to therapy with an emphasis on acceptance and mindfulness-based techniques. She values the relationship between herself and the client and believes that the client is the expert on their own experience. She sees her role as helping the client move towards their goals in order to live a life they value. When not working, you will find Dr. Nolde reading horror novels, playing video games, or watching documentaries while doing some kind of craft project.

Brad is a skilled medical biller who spent many years in the music industry, working both in music production and music instrument sales after studying music production at the Art Institute of Seattle. Brad applies his creative skills to his work as the Billing Manager, navigating the complex landscape of medical insurance, benefits, and electronic claims. Brad has also completed the medical billing program at South Puget Sound Community College.

Danell “Dannie” Bjornson, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Northwest ADHD Treatment Center. ADHD became an early career interest as she observed the often negative impact the untreated disorder had on many facets of her patients’ lives and the transformative power of appropriate diagnosis and treatment. This interest led her to collaboratively create a center of excellence dedicated to accurate diagnosis and high-quality treatment. Creating a supportive, fun, and responsive workplace continues to be something she takes great pride in as her colleagues are Northwest ADHD’s greatest asset! Outside of her work at Northwest ADHD, Dannie has served as an adjunct clinical instructor at Gonzaga University’s Graduate Nursing program and for the Oregon Board of Nursing as a consultant. She is also an education committee member for the American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders (APSARD) and has served on many advisory panels over the years. Outside of work, Dannie enjoys caring for her family, cooking/baking, working out, crafting, and movie making.

Dr. Lennen has received specialized training focused on the treatment/assessment of symptoms related to ADHD. Training includes, among others, the OHSU Pediatric Neuropsychology Clinic and Child Development Clinic. Here, he focused on assessing and treating neurological disorders such as ADHD. In addition to training in hospital environments, Dr. Lennen has experience working with adults and students from Elementary School through College focused on developing strategies to improve academic, interpersonal, occupational, and one’s overall functioning. Dr. Lennen values the unique strengths of individuals with this disorder, appreciating that often interacting with those diagnosed with ADHD is often very exciting and amusing. Working together with Dr. Lennen, your primary mental health clinician, you will benefit from clear and concise education about ADHD, evidenced-based treatment practices, and a lot of laughter through the treatment process. Dr. Lennen received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from George Fox University and his Master’s of Counseling from Western Seminary. Dr. Lennen has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds in a variety of outpatient settings including community mental health organizations, medical hospitals, and university counseling centers.

Dr. Tahler (she/her) joined the NW ADHD team as Director of Behavioral Health in May 2024. She is a licensed Clinical Health Psychologist who completed her doctoral education at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and postdoctoral masters in Clinical Psychopharmacology at Fairleigh Dickinson University while her clinical internship and residency were completed at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Tahler brings a patient centered approach to developing sustainable and unique programing that meets the diverse needs of our patient population.

Katie (she/her/hers) holds an MS in Organizational Psychology from the University of Hartford, where she completed a Capstone project on navigating ADHD symptoms in the workplace. With nearly 15 years of office experience, primarily in the mental health field, she has held roles ranging from receptionist to office manager and has gained experience in HR along the way. Katie is also a research associate at SHINE Lab, focusing on human interaction, diversity, and employability. Her current project centers on how organizations can retain neurodiverse employees. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest and unwinding with reality TV.

Kristen is a board certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her BSN and MSN from Columbia University. She has practiced in outpatient mental health settings since 2013 and has experienced in treating a wide range of clinical conditions, but has always been particularly interested in ADHD. Her passion is treating children, adolescents, and young adults

Dr. Neary is the Chief Operations Officer for the clinic, focusing efforts on ensuring Northwest ADHD Treatment Center continues to provide the highest quality ADHD evaluation and treatment in a warm and caring environment. Dr. Neary has been a psychologist at Northwest ADHD Treatment Center since the clinic opened in 2014, and was the director of behavioral health from 2016 to 2024. Dr. Neary has presented at conferences for The American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders (APSARD) and Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders (CHADD), and he has provided professional trainings and educational seminars related to assessment and intervention approaches for ADHD. Dr. Neary received his doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) as well as a master’s degree in clinical psychology (MS) from Indiana State University. Dr. Neary also completed a master’s degree program in Counseling Psychology (MA) at Pacific University. He is presently completing an MBA program at Oregon Health Sciences University. Overall, he has been working in the mental health field since 2007, in a variety of outpatient and inpatient settings. Dr. Neary currently maintains a very small caseload. He works together with patients to develop an individualized approach that will help them to most effectively manage symptoms and to move toward becoming ‘the best version of themselves.’ Dr. Neary provides evidence-based treatment that incorporates cognitive-behavioral, developmental, and person-centered approaches.

Chris strives to be a source of humor and easy going energy for those he assists, and is a firm believer that laughing makes everyone’s day better! When not working, you’ll find Chris occupied with a good fantasy or horror novel, playing video games on his cherished Switch, or watching his favorite season of Survivor.

Working closely with behavioral providers at NWADHD over the past 4+ years helped Grace realize her dream of going to nursing school to become a PMHNP. During her free time, you can find Grace knocking out prerequisite nursing classes, painting, and cooking. Recently, Grace combined her creative hobbies to co-write and illustrate a Filipino cookbook with her partner.

Her hope for the future is to pursue higher education in the arts. Marita joined the billing team in May as an Extern upon completing the Medical Billing and Coding program through Carrington College and is working towards her national certification. She has a strong financial background with 20 years of Accounts Payable/Receivables and Payroll Processing. Communication skills as a Payroll call center team member and 911 call taker are helpful working with patients understanding their accounts and billing procedures giving the best care possible. Dr. Tollander takes a personal approach with each client to assess and meet their individual needs and emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship part of the healing process. Part of that includes helping clients find a balance between wholeheartedly accepting themselves and changing what they can. She takes an integrated approach to therapy that is informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, as well as neurobiology. There are many ways to approach therapy and Dr. Tollander feels it is best to meet clients where they are in the healing process while remaining mindful of cultural or other differences. This could mean education about a recent diagnosis, practicing skills, or deep, long term healing from trauma. Regardless of the approach, she prioritizes trust and safety in her relationship with clients and feels having a sense of humor and curiosity are essential to the often serious nature of therapy. Dr. Tollander’s experience has given her the tools to work with a wide variety of clients and mental health concerns. In addition to ADHD, she has significant experience and specialized training to help people heal from complex trauma/PTSD and dissociative disorders like Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). She is a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). She also has specialized experience and training to help clients with issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity including writing letters for gender affirming surgery. She identifies as Queer herself. Dr. Tollander received her doctorate (PsyD) and master’s degree in clinical psychology from Pacific University. She completed her internship and residency at Portland State University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in geography at the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Tollander has been working with people who have ADHD since 2006 in many fun and exciting settings. They include Job Corps, a summer camp for children and teens with ADHD, and a wilderness therapy school for boys with ADHD.

I provide personalized, trauma focused, evidence based mental health care based on collaboration with the patient to best meet their needs. My goal is to help patients find meaning in purpose in their lives to assist them to thrive and meet their individual goals. I obtained my Undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2006 from Boise State University and my Graduate Nursing degree from Gonzaga University in 2012.

Dr. Kimra Roundy works collaboratively with clients to tailor treatment to fit their unique needs, values, and personal goals for growth, while focusing on creating a positive, safe, and warm environment built on trust and humor. Her clinical approach is direct, holistic, integrative, and strengths based with an emphasis on sociocultural experience and intersectionality. Dr. Kimra Roundy utilizes person-centered therapies and concepts from the following theoretical approaches: Family Systems, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral, Attachment, and Feminist. She works with children, couples, and families and is experienced in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of presenting issues, including; ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, gender and LGBTQIQ+ concerns, adjustment due to physical and/or mental disabilities, relational distress, grief/loss, life transitions, stress, and insomnia. Dr. Kimra Roundy earned her master’s (M.A.) and doctoral (Psy.D.) degrees in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Francisco, California. She completed her internship and post-doctoral training at Through the Looking Glass: The National Center for People with Disabilities and Their Families in Berkeley, California. Over 20 years of experience across multiple states in the mental health and medical fields includes working in diverse environments, including community and school based mental health, outpatient drug rehabilitation, and home or street based settings. Dr. Kimra Roundy became a licensed psychologist in Oregon in 2020. She loves animals, sports, music, traveling, learning about new cultures and is lucky enough to have been to 33 countries and 35 states.

Korie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Washington in Seattle, where she developed a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and societal dynamics. Building on this knowledge, Korie pursued her passion for healthcare by earning her nursing degree in 2003 and went on to work in a variety of critical care settings. Eventually, she transitioned into mental health focused roles and made her way to Unity Behavioral Health as a staff nurse on the inpatient Adolescent Psychiatry Unit. Here, she worked closely with children and adolescents in crisis, honing skills in providing holistic and trauma-informed care with a goal of holding each child and adolescent in unconditional positive regard. Korie was trained and certified in Level 1 Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS), a testament to her commitment to supporting those with high emotional reactivity and limited cognitive flexibility. She graduated in 2023 with a Master of Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree. Korie’s nursing philosophy is rooted in the belief of the inherent resilience of each individual and the CPS motto of “Kids do well when they can.” She finds great enjoyment in forging meaningful connections with her clients, while prioritizing their preferences, needs, and values. Outside of her professional life, Korie enjoys spending time on the river, fostering a backyard urban wildlife habitat, and spending treasured time with her partner and their three children.

I believe we all have the capacity to bring about the change we want to see. My goal is to provide a space where you can be heard and feel safe in expressing your emotions during times that may be particularly vulnerable. Having overcome my own life-altering losses and trauma, I discovered my passion and love for counseling, which has led me here. I utilize a variety of interventions and techniques depending on what resonates with each client. My clients typically work through anxiety, grief and loss, communication struggles, and inner child/trauma healing. If you are looking for someone who is both direct and empathetic, I can help. While I do not have training I have also had some experience with ENM in a counseling setting as well as a supporter and ally of POC and LGBTQ+ folks. I graduated with my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in December 2021 from Capella University and am currently working on gaining my licensure in the state of Oregon. Outside of the office, I enjoy crafts such as knitting, drawing, gardening, and painting miniatures. I am a self-proclaimed geek who loves various fandoms like Star Wars and Marvel, as well as D&D.

Dr. Laura Hillmann has worked with children and families for over 20 years. Her focus is on providing assessments and therapy for preschool aged children through early adulthood. She has an integrated approach with elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Object-Relations Play Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and Exposure Response Prevention. Her areas of specialty are: ADHD, anxiety, high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder, depression, disruptive behavior problems, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She believes you need to meet people where they are at, thus the need to adapt her approach for each individual. Dr. Laura studied at Baylor University in Waco, Texas where she earned both her master’s and doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She completed her internship at Family Service and Guidance Center in Topeka, KS and her post-doctoral residency at the University of Florida Department of Medical Psychology in Gainesville, FL. Dr. Laura has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, medical, university counseling, residential treatment, and school-based. When not at work, Dr. Laura likes to spend time with her family and friends, play with her two cats, watch Korean television, and create peyote beading projects.

Dr. Demerich believes in a holistic and collaborative approach to mental health care. She works together with clients and families to determine their needs and the direction of care. She knows that medications are only part of the treatment plan. They are most effective when combined with counseling, skills training, and healthy lifestyle choices, such as diet and exercise. Dr. Demerich has experience treating ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked as a psychiatric registered nurse and as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in the hospital setting. Dr. Demerich graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of Florida. Additionally, she was recognized by the University of Florida College of Nursing for academic excellence at the conclusion of her master’s degree education. Dr. Demerich is nationally accredited in psychiatric mental health nursing across the lifespan.

Rebecca believes that empowerment brings about lasting change and that therapy is a process of cooperation between client and practitioner. Therefore, she prefers to connect with clients on an authentic, human-to-human level where transparency and vulnerability lead to sustained, positive change. In therapy, Rebecca uses a strong intersectional lens to provide strengths-based, attachment-focused therapies that include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy, (CBT) and psychodynamic approaches. Additionally, she acknowledges that a trauma-informed approach to mental health is ideal for optimal recovery and growth in these changing times. Rebecca obtained both her Bachelor of Science in Women, Gender and Sexuality and her Masters’ Degree in Clinical Social Work from Portland State University. Dr. Kevin Janer received his Ph.D. in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis with a specialization in clinical neuropsychology. He completed the clinical psychology internship in the Department of Psychiatry at Brown University Medical School, the postdoctoral psychology residency in the Department of Psychiatry at the Cornell University Weill Medical College/The New York-Presbyterian Hospital, followed by an NIH research fellowship in Cornell’s Department of Neurology and Neuroscience. He has held clinical academic appointments at St. John’s University as the Assistant Director for the Center for Psychological Services and at Georgia State University as an Associate Director for the Regents Center for Learning Disorders. His academic research into the neuropsychological processes underlying human attention has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, and Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society. His research included the early application of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and novel chronometric measures of cognitive processing affected by major depressive disorder, cingulotomy neurosurgery, Alzheimer’s dementia, and Parkinson’s disease. For over 30 years Dr. Janer has worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient clinical settings where he conducted hundreds of neuropsychological evaluations of children and adults with traumatic brain injuries, seizure disorders, developmental learning disabilities, Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other complex psychiatric and neurological disorders that affect language, memory, attention, and executive functions responsible for the expression and regulation of emotion, cognition, and behavior. As a psychotherapist, Dr. Janer draws from a broad range of influences that include attachment theory, relational theory, family systems, and psychodynamic models to provide client-entered, integrative therapy that emphasizes methods used in Emotionally Focused (EFT), Structural Family (SFT), Rational Emotive (RET), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive (MBCT), Psychodynamic, and Humanistic approaches. Her over 8 years of clinical training and experience have focused on the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents across outpatient, school, primary care, and hospital settings. She completed a 2-year residency at the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Pediatric and Developmental Disabilities Clinic, where she performed behavioral/CBT treatment for children with autism and developmental delays, interdisciplinary autism evaluations, and behavioral and executive functioning assessments. Dr. Hoffman provides both psychological evaluations and behavioral/CBT treatment for children, with an emphasis on parent training and education. Clinical interests include early childhood development, developmental delays, ADHD, autism, neurodivergence, parent training, anxiety, disruptive behaviors, and toileting. Her theoretical orientation is a combination of developmental, behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, and family systems approaches. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Therapy Services

Rachel is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is trained to diagnose and treat ADHD and other co-morbidities. She has had a long interest in neuro-developmental disorders and believes individuals experience the highest quality of life when they engage in treatment from multiple modalities including medications, therapy, exercise, and lifestyle. She believes in using evidenced based interventions and has psychotherapy training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT). Prior to nursing, Rachel worked pastorally with high school students for over ten years. During those years she learned the importance of compassion, listening, and the impact of trauma on an individual’s health and well-being. She has leaned heavily on those skills in her work as a nurse, emphasizing patient concerns, values, and goals for treatment. Rachel can often be found hiking or running on many of the trails in the PNW listening to podcasts or her audible account. She has a tuxedo cat who is equal parts endearing and exasperating. Rachel has recently started baking sourdough bread and would appreciate any wisdom on how to keep her sourdough starter happy and make loaves that are the perfect complement to butter. Rachel hopes to continue as a compassionate listener and support to her clients with effective tools as they build lives they find meaningful.
