Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Kristen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specialized in treating children and families. Kristen primarily works with children ages 3-13 and spent the last 5 years serving as a school based therapist at elementary schools. Kristen specializes in treating ADHD, trauma disorders, autism, and mood disorders in children. Her therapy style is strengths based, non-judgmental, and trauma informed, using an eclectic mix of collaborative problem solving, play, acceptance, mindfulness, and skill building. Kristen received her bachelors of social work at Warren Wilson College and went on to receive her Masters at the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Social Work. Kristen has lived experience as a previous child and now adult with ADHD. Kristen believes that all individuals with ADHD have strengths and can thrive with the right support. You will often find her on the floor, playing with her clients and giving them permission to be exactly themselves in session. Kristen equally loves connecting with parents, educating about ADHD and teaching lifestyle changes that can reduce challenging symptoms and bring more calm into our lives. Outside of work, Kristen loves to read, hike, spend time with animals, go to yoga classes, and cook.
