Current Group Offerings

(All group meetings will be remote for the foreseeable future)

Queer Process Group REMOTE (Wei Motulsky, Ph.D.)

  • Audience: Adults 18+
  • Day: Remote on whichever day/time works for the highest number of prospective participants
  • Length of time: Group is one hour long
  • Type: Ongoing open group
  • Insurance: OHP and cash pay only ($50/session); open to private insurances as credentialing allows
  • Description:
    • A psychodynamic process group for individuals within the queer community. The goal for this space is for group members to learn from and support each other, as well as to gain insight into their interpersonal patterns of relatedness. Led by a queer-identified psychologist.

Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) Group for Teens Experiencing Depression (Elizabeth Nunez, PsyD Psychologist Resident)

  • Audience: Teens ages 13-17 with or suspected to have major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder, or other conditions with depressive features
  • OHP or cash pay only ($50 per session)
  • Schedule: Mondays at 5:30 beginning February 19th
  • This group targets symptoms of depression related to grief, interpersonal conflicts, life changes, loneliness, social isolation, and coping with the challenges of ADHD

 

BIPOC Support Group REMOTE (Wei Motulsky, Ph.D.)

  • Starts: As soon as filled
  • Schedule: One hour weekly, Date and Time TBD
  • Adults ages 18+
  • OHP and Cash Pay ($50 per session)
  • About the Group:
  • A psychodynamic process group for individuals who identify as BIPOC. This group will function as a space for members to discuss their experiences living as people of color in a predominantly/White-run city (and society, and world), as well as to gain insight into their interpersonal patterns of relatedness. Led by a psychologist of color.

Survivors of Interpersonal Violence Process Group REMOTE (Wei Motulsky, Ph.D.)

  • Audience: Adults 18+
  • Day: Remote on whichever day/time works for the highest number of prospective participants
  • Time: Group is one hour long
  • Type: Ongoing open group
  • Insurance: OHP and cash pay only ($50/session); open to private insurances as credentialing allows
  • Description:
    • A psychodynamic process group for individuals who are survivors of interpersonal violence of all kinds, no matter how much time has passed since the critical incident(s). The goal for this space is for group members to learn from and support each other, as well as to gain insight into their interpersonal patterns of relatedness. All identities welcome.

 

Dungeons and Dragons Process Group REMOTE (Wei Motulsky, Ph.D.)

  • Audience: Adults 18+
  • Day: In-person at West on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday on whichever day/time works for the highest number of prospective participants
  • Time: Group is 90 minutes long
  • Type: Closed group; must commit to one 8-week cycle; potential for group to continue past 8 weeks should most participants wish to do so (in the past, all participants have wished to continue with this group beyond its initial conclusion)
  • A Dungeons and Dragons-based process group. The group facilitator will support all participants in making their own Dungeons and Dragons characters. Participants will engage in a self-contained campaign module during which time they will learn and practice interpersonal skills and receive executive functioning support and skills. All identities and experience levels with DnD are welcome.

 

ADHD Friendly Mindfulness and Meditation REMOTE (Heather Tollander, PsyD) 

  • Schedule: Tuesdays 11-11:45am – next round starts 5/07/2024
  • *8 week commitment required*
  • Adults ages 18+
  • Insurance accepted
  • Description:
    • Learn other mindfulness and meditation practices, as well as get support to develop a consistent mindfulness practice
      If you have tried meditation or mindfulness in the past and it hasn’t worked for you then this is your group!
    • Group Guidelines
      No discussion of specific trauma content, self harm, suicidal ideation, or eating disordered behavior in group

 

ADHD Home Management  REMOTE (Lindsay Heydenrych, PsyD) 

  • Schedule: Wednesdays, 3-4pm
  • Adults 18+
  • Insurance accepted
  • Topics: 
    • Aim to help with home organization, decluttering, working on and finishing home projects

 

Women and ADHD Process and Support Group REMOTE (Lindsay Heydenrych, PsyD) 

  • Schedule: Wednesdays 12-1pm
  • Adult Women* (*inclusive of all interested persons)
  • Insurance accepted
  • Topics: (flexible per group interest)
    • Relationships/Communication, Role of Emotional Labor & Time Management, Emotion Dysregulation, Relaxation & Self-care, Setting Boundaries, Parenting, Stigma and shame, etc.

 

Structured ADHD Coping Skills REMOTE (Daniel Moshofsky, PsyD) 

  • Schedule: next session starts  Mondays 3pm (next round starting 4/2/24) 
  • New groups start approximately every month
  • *10 week commitment required*
  • Insurance accepted
  • Topics:
    • Session 1 – Acceptance and Awareness 
    • Session 2 – Setting Yourself Up For Success (Sleep, Diet, Exercise, Etc.)
    • Session 3 – Mood and Motivation
    • Session 4 – Prioritizing and To-Do Lists
    • Session 5 – Time Management: Making Tasks Manageable

 

Current: Skills for Living with Chronic Stress and Trauma (Heather Tollander) 

  • Audience: adults
  • Schedule: Fridays 11am (45 min) (next round starts 05/10/2024)
  • 8 week commitment required
  • Insurance: All insurances accepted
    • Topics/about the group: 
      • Psychoeducational and skills building 
      • Learning about how to establish internal and external stability and safety
      • Learn skills to regulate and calm the nervous system
      • Excellent peer support!
      • Easy going environment 
  • Group Guidelines: 
    • No discussion of specific trauma content, self harm, suicidal ideation, or eating disordered behavior in group.

 

ADHD Skills and Strategies (Daniel Moshofsky, PsyD)

  • Who is this for: Adults 18+
  • Who leads this group: This group is led by Daniel Moshofsky, PsyD. Dr Moshofsky is a licensed psychologist who specializes in ADHD coping skills and strategies. He has worked at NW ADHD since 2017. 
  • When: Mondays from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM
  • Description: A weekly “drop in” group for adults seeking to learn about, discuss, and share ADHD coping skills and strategies. Group members will get the opportunity to engage in skills training with the provider in a group setting, and will be encouraged to share and learn from other group members about helpful coping strategies they use for ADHD. Topics range from skills to manage ADHD at work, in the home, in relationships, mood regulation and ADHD, organization, time management, and many more. Group members are encouraged to share topics they would like to discuss in future sessions.
  • Insurance: All
  • Commitment: No commitment required! Come when you can. This group meets weekly, you may come when you are able, however group members typically benefit the most when they come at least once a month.

DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) Skills Group

  • Insurance: OHP, Providence, cash pay($50/session); open to external referrals and to those with other insurances as credentialing allows.

  • This group is for those who wish to develop additional skills to navigate their lives. In this group, participants will learn and practice the four core pillars of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT): mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This group is open enrollment and the modules will repeat approximately every 12 to 16 weeks depending upon group interest in each topic. Led by a licensed psychologist.
  • Interested persons should express interest with this form.
